If you thought the latest collaboration between “Breaking Bad” actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul would be a new movie continuing the 10-year long epic of the drug-pushing dynamic duo, you thought wrong.
A couple of cryptic Instagram posts of Paul’s captioned, “Soon.” and “Even sooner” shook fans all over the world, which many took as possibly hinting at a movie based on the popular series.
Instead, it turns out the two were secretly cooking up something different: Dos Hombres, their new brand of Mezcal.
“We had the time of our lives while shooting ‘Breaking Bad’ and truly built a very special bond. Knowing that we couldn’t share the screen for quite a while – our thoughts turned to a new project,” wrote the pair, who took to Instagram for their big announcement.
The post included an accompanying gallery of nostalgic shots from the actors’ journey through Oaxaca.
While the reveal is undoubtedly shocking, hope is not entirely lost on that movie. The Albuquerque Journal reports the start of production on a potential spinoff, though it’s unconfirmed whether Paul and Cranston will reprise their roles as Walter and Jesse.
In the meantime, fans will sip their Mezcal and continue dreaming that the dos hombres return from their quest and head to the big screen to continue the Emmy Award-winning journey.
