The Avengers are headed to the bay.
That’s the premise of a new video game from Marvel, dropping on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia on May 15, 2020.
A first look at “Avengers” debuted at E3 in Los Angeles this week by Square Enix, the publishing company working on the multi-game project with Disney Marvel. The game was initially announced in 2017.

As the preview trailer details, the Avengers — who, it should be noted, do not resemble their MCU counterparts — arrive in San Francisco for A-Day, an event wherein they announce their new headquarters.
Behind the stage, however, the Golden Gate Bridge is suddenly bombed, prompting the Avengers in attendance — Black Widow, Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Captain America (but not Ant-Man!) —to take action.

The Avengers, as it turns out, were played; the bomb and subsequent battle on the Golden Gate Bridge was a ruse to distract them while terrorists stole their helicarrier and devastated the city, killing many in the process.
After taking time apart following the attack, the Avengers then reunite a few years later for a new fight, though it’s currently unclear what will unfold.
The game will be dropped as a single and multi-player game, with players able to step into the shoes of one of the Avengers. As UPI reports, more Avengers will be added to the game in the future.
