The Warriors won an emotional Game 5 in Toronto Monday night after losing two-time NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant, who injured his right achilles according to GM Bob Myers’ post-game comments.
Durant, who was seen leaving Scotiabank Arena on crutches with what initially appeared to be a re-aggravation of a right calf injury that saw him miss nine games, took to Instagram immediately following the game with an emotional message following his team’s late heroics.
“I’m hurting deep in the soul right now I can’t lie but seeing my brothers gets this win was like taking a shot of tequila, i got new life lol. #dubs”
Durant also made a prediction for Game 6 at Oracle Arena on Thursday: “Dub nation gonna be loud as f— for Game 6.”

Durant finished with 11 points and 2 rebounds in 10 minutes of action, going 3-for-5 including 3-for-3 from distance.
The Warriors will attempt to even the Finals on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
