Kevin Durant returned to the court for the first time in over a month in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, and hit two three-pointers early in the first quarter.
The Warriors started 5-5 from three-point range and opened up an early 16-10 lead, prompting the Toronto crowd to chant “KD sucks!” in frustration.
“Chant that says KD sucks,” The Chronicle’s Ann Killion tweeted from the game. “That’s not very Canadian.”
While Durant was shooting free throws later in the period, the crowd reportedly broke out into chants of “New York Knicks,” in reference to his impending free agency.
